My Pets

My pets are, in all honesty, my best friends. They love me just as much if not more than I love them. They are dependent on me and they know that. We've grown into such a routine. I wake up in the morning and take them out to potty, come in and feed and water them. Then, I get ready for the day and take them out again before I leave. They truly are wonderful and hairy and all things in between. Sometimes I feel crazy having 3 animals in a one bedroom apartment with a kid on the way, BUT it wont be like this forever. And I absolutely love these animals with all my heart. I used to think that I wouldn't ever care to have animals, but then I met these guys. Mika, the one in the top picture, is a shepherd/husky mix and she is by far the spunkiest dog in the world. Very protective of me, but not in a barky aggressive manor. Jazz, a.k.a Cat, annoys me beyond belief at times, but if I walk by he will lay on his back for a belly rub. I love that. He can be a pain when he decides to knock down the ornaments and candy canes in his reach on the tree. Now, its only half decorated because of him. Julius is a sweet cuddle bear. He hates cuddling, but when he is in the right mood it's perfect. Animals are work and I'm hoping that they will do very well with Alexander on the way. I'm taking the proper precautions with them when it comes to introducing them, but I'm just anxious.

Some steps that 'experts' say to take are:
1. Get a blanket with the baby's scent on it and take it home to them and have them smell it.
2. Do a gradual meet. While you are holding the baby and our partner has control of the animal, let them sniff the baby.
3. Keep an eye on them and never leave them alone together. There could always be a bad moment, even if the dog doesn't show any aggression.

I have faith in my pups, Mika is very loving. Too loving. She has also been very affectionate to my bump, so maybe she will do well with him. Obviously I will share all about it. I'm very excited.

Also, tomorrow I am 33 weeks and it is my baby shower. Definitely excited.

27 Weeks // Third Trimester

It is finally nearing the end; I am in the last stretch of this pregnancy and I couldn't be more excited. I am ready to get this lovely baby out of me. Although, he still has a while to still cook and be the healthiest he can be.

I'm feeling him move all the time now, and I absolutely love it. It is one of the most peaceful feelings when I worry about him. I have been struggling with my belly being in the way of everything now. Especially when I cook, do the dishes, sit at a desk or even in a booth at a restaurant. It is kind of annoying, but I'm trying to enjoy it because I know I will miss this belly when it's gone (come on, it's a reason to eat and not have to have a flat tummy).

This weekend has been kind of entertaining; I did a breast cancer walk and cleaned. I've been needing to organize more and more before I get all the baby stuff from my shower, so I spent some time doing that and I am no where near done. Being in a one bedroom is kind of annoying, but I know it wont be forever, fortunately. But, I've been doing as much as I can to get things to super space saver worthy status. It's kind of hard when you work with a budget, but extremely plausible. I'll be sharing some of what I do on here, eventually. Oh, and this headband I made out of some leftover fabric, and it's the perfect fall piece.

Mika's 7 months old!

Mika is 7 months old:
Weight: 40 lbs
Height: 20 inches
Favorite toy: Bone/us
Favorite human food: bananas with peanut butter
Sleeps all the way through the night (finally).
Still sleeps the majority of the day, but when she is awake is very energetic.

She is seriously the most spoiled dog. But, she is totally worth it, to me. She is our child. We take her everywhere with us. Actually, that's why we got her certified to be a service dog (her vests come in the mail over the next week or two), so we can take her everywhere.

Ok, so a story about the bananas and peanut butter: She used to just gobble up bananas and go crazy about them. Then, one day I was having bananas and peanut butter as a snack and I gave her a small piece with some peanut butter and she gobbled it right up. Later that day, Cody was eating a banana and he tried to give her some. Understand, we can never eat bananas without giving her some because she gets mad at us and is spiteful the rest of the day. As I said, spoiled. Anyways, she turned her head at him and came to me because she knows I'll put peanut butter on it. She is spoiled.

Have a fantastic day! I've got to go spoil her some more.

Mika 6 Months

Update: Mika is doing fantastic with pottying outside and actually telling us when she needs to go. Well, not exactly telling but letting us know in her own cute way. She now ways 25 lbs exactly (which is surprisingly small for a german shepherd her age-so we think she will be husky sized). It's amazing that she is six months old since we got her

Yesterday, she got fixed and she hasn't exactly been the happiest camper. I think this is the only happy moments we have had since we brought her back home yesterday. She has been sleeping and wimpering. It's very sad. The vet told us when we picked her up that every time they woke her up to check on her she would cry. I'm waiting for the next 9 days to be over with so she can be herself again.
Sweet girl sun bathing in her cone.
Leo wanted to be outside too(:

Dog Park, Again

The other day we visited a new dog park that was opened in August. I think its the best. It's on an island. If that's not awesome, I don't know what is.

Anyways, it has a little dog and a big dog side. They're separated and the big dog side is a little bit bigger, of course. But, in the middle of the two, there was  a medium sized square that was for the "Bad Dogs". I mean it, this place was perfect.

Her cuteness!

Playing with littles through the fence.

This historic house was outside of it. It's a beautiful home, I would love to live in a place like that, it seems very...manageable.

Do you have any neat dog parks you like going to?

Dog Days Are Over // Dog Park

1. I absolutely love that song by, Florence and the Machines. Watch the music video here.

2. My favorite thing about having house showings, is having to escape from the house with the dogs. So, what do we do? We go to the local dog park. They run and run and run and run some more and come home completely exhausted and pretty much sleep the rest of the day. I think its a fantastic thing for a dog to do, get exercise. If you have a dog and a local dog park make sure your pooches meet it. They will probably, more than likely, without a shadow of a doubt, make some friends. Whether dog or human. It's also a great opportunity to soak up some Vitamin D, meet new people and talk about your dogs just because you can. A lot of the people that go to the dog parks think very highly of their dogs and love to talk about them and also like to learn a little bit about your dog. It's a great place for dogs and dog lovers. So, I recommend it. Have you every brought your dog to the dog park? How much did they like it? Also, doesn't Mika look absolutely adorable and absolutely exhausted in this photo? She kind of got irritated with me because I woke her up.

Mika's 6 Mo. Old

Our darling little lady is now 6 months old. It's crazy how time flies and how much bigger she has gotten.
When we got her, she fit in the palm of Cody's hand. She also learnt how to go to the bathroom on the potty grass pad from the pet store, that was awesome.
She also didn't ever want to leave it.
Currently, a bed hog, major begger, doesn't bark, fully potty trained, knows sit and lay down and still loves to cuddle.

Oh and she loves the dog park, and staying underneath our legs while we are there.
 Eating a pine cone.

She noticed I was taking photos, after this shot, she ran away.
Our lovely big girl. I adore her so much (:

We're Home!

I always love going on road trips. Well, normally when I don't have to drive and I have something to do. I get bored extremely easily, so I have to keep myself entertained. Whether its on Instagram, thinking of blog posts, listing to music, or reading; I have to keep myself entertained or I become extremely annoying. I can't even sleep in the car, so I get quite restless.
Anyways, here are some photos from our trip.
After Leo's accident, he slept a lot. And Cody's mom has these lovely lace curtains, they were his favorite thing to lay in. It was adorable.
On the car ride there, he layed under Cody's seat. Such a chicken.
She just slept and then woke up when we stopped to pee, then slept some more.
The sun was absolutely gorgeous there. And this cute little plant holder was given to her by her mom (who we call MawMaw). It's absolutely adorable, I want something like that for my plants, but I want it inside. It'd be the perfect entry accent piece.

Oh, just a case of cactus gone wild.
 Favorite chocolate #1.
 Favorite chocolate #2
Leo buddy finally healing after his accident; he had me so worried.
There is an adorable cupcake place called, Cupcake By the Sea and it was delicious. I had to, of course, have the Red Velvet one. Maybe when we go back next week, I'll have to try another.
The trip was splendid. Now, we are home for the weekend before we leave again this Monday. We, also, have my sister-in-law with us this weekend. I love being around family so much! How was your week? What'd you do?
