Life in Phone Photos // Spring

Firstly, I definitely think you should follow me on Instagram, my username is bbrittanyyannn! Anyways, here are just a few photos of my life this past week. Not much.
Leo is the best cat in all the land, well only because he is mine and the only cat I've actually like. But as a "mom" to my animals, they'll always be better than anyone else's (: They're my babies.
This past weekend was rainy, but then it turned into beautiful mid 80 degree weather days and I absolutely love it because we take the top off the jeep and just drive around because we can. Oh, and its time for allergies, pollen is everywhere. I just swept up the porch yesterday and its already covered. That's life though: the never ending struggle of cleaning.
And of course its spring time. I've been flooding my house with flowers because I absolutely love the way they make a house homey. I leave my windows open and air off so that the breeze can come through the house. It just makes it fresh.

What are some of your favorite flowers?

Working Out // Weight Loss Post

Lately I have been doing the squat challenge and I have really been enjoying it. I have also been eating healthy and loving that too and I have finally started to see progress. In this past week I've lost 5 lbs (and it is only Thursday!) and am feeling 10 times more energetic. Anyways, today was my first time back to the gym and I killed myself. Obviously not literally but I really worked myself really hard. I'm excited to see where I'm at by the end of my 30 day challenge and of course I'll be continuing.

What's your favorite kind of work out?

Yesterday Chillin

Yesterday was the first day that broke the spell of the rainy days. So, we took the top off the jeep and just sat there. It was nice. Mika slept and we just listened to music. Enjoy these pictures (:

Simple Eats // #1

This meal was extremely simple, especially when I make something different for myself than what the guys eat. Did I mention that it really tests my self control at times? That's been my biggest challenge when dieting, really. Is knowing when to say no to certain things that I really want. Like pizza or ice cream. Ugh.

Anyways, I cook a single serving of 10 minute brown rice, a serving of peas, feta cheese and mozzarella cheese. I absolutely love it. It serves as a good lunch or dinner. If you want, you can add meat of course. I try refraining from that.

What are some simple recipes you love?

End of April // Birthday Weekend

The end of April has been interesting for me. Few reasons:
1. I've finally got past my plateau and I have started losing weight again. That's good.
2. Our house has been on the market for two months and we have had a lot of showings, but no offers. That's a struggle.
3. I clean all the time, non stop. And I'm in the awkward stage of packing, but yet not. So the house is awkwardly empty and I have to resist the urge to get new items to fill it again.
4. It was Cody's birthday this past Saturday on the 20th. We had a very relaxing day filled with bed and video games. A much needed day of mindlessness.
5. Mika got fixed and it is a struggle to keep her calm until her next appointment. I just gave up. Although, this Thursday I am interested to see how much more weight she has gained since last week. I'm ready to see full grown Mika.
6. I've hit a creativity block. That's a major struggle.

Anyways, I hope your April has been fantastic!
I love my water glasses. They help me make sure I get enough water in a day.

Their my new favorite fruit of the season. So delicious.

This was on Cody's birthday. She has been very snuggly lately.
 And avoiding pictures, as always.
We went to the beach the other day with Cody's old neighbor. They played football and skim boarded a bit. It was nice, not too sunny, just perfect for how I was feeling that day.

We're going to miss the beach, a lot. There are definitely plans to come back when we move.

30 Day SquatChallenge

I saw this circulating on Facebook and I decided that I had to try it. Squats are really one of my biggest challenges because I just get sick of doing them. I'm on my fourth day, which is rest day, thankfully. I think you should do it with me and tell me all about it. On the 30th day I will update you and let you know how it goes! Ready, set, go!

Drink Water, Plenty of it.

If your feeling very sluggish, having tons of headaches or just not feeling to great - try drinking more water. Crazy, right? I mean, our bodies are 70% made of water and throughout the day we sweat, pee and just use a lot of our water. So, why wouldn't we replenish it throughout the day? Surprisingly, more often than we think we don't replenish our bodies water supply.

So, we should. If you don't, start. It's vital to your health. About 8 to 10 8 ounces of water a day. I try to, and I have been feeling so much better because of it.

Mika 6 Months

Update: Mika is doing fantastic with pottying outside and actually telling us when she needs to go. Well, not exactly telling but letting us know in her own cute way. She now ways 25 lbs exactly (which is surprisingly small for a german shepherd her age-so we think she will be husky sized). It's amazing that she is six months old since we got her

Yesterday, she got fixed and she hasn't exactly been the happiest camper. I think this is the only happy moments we have had since we brought her back home yesterday. She has been sleeping and wimpering. It's very sad. The vet told us when we picked her up that every time they woke her up to check on her she would cry. I'm waiting for the next 9 days to be over with so she can be herself again.
Sweet girl sun bathing in her cone.
Leo wanted to be outside too(:

Spring // Summer Time

Spring and Summer are my absolute two favorite seasons, especially in Florida. It's warm enough to wear sun dresses, the pretty flowers are blooming, there are an abundance of fruits and vegetables and it's perfect weather for barbecues and being outside in general. I think last week we barbecued 4 nights and the nights we didn't, it was because it was rainy out. To me, rain isn't a downside to this weather at all, it's perfect to make yourself do chores and catch up on some things.

Infused Water Part 1 // Cucumber-Lime-Lemon

I have never tried this before and I have been seeing it a lot lately, especially with the warm weather. Do you know what's also great about it? Being able to make it all in the morning and have it for the day.

So, I looked at a few sights and decided that I wanted to try this recipe:

Cucumber-Lime-Lemon Infused Water

What you need:
Mason jar
Cucumber
Lime
Lemon
If you want it sweetened-sugar (but, the natural flavors are sweet enough for me)

(yes, it really is that simple)

What to do:
Fill the mason jar 3 quarters of the way full with water. Slice up the cucumber, lemon and lime and place in the water (you do not have to use the whole thing for just one jar-would be perfect to make more than one at a time). Put the cap on the jar and let infuse for 30 minutes (or more). I place it in the fridge to keep it cool. Once the 30 minutes are up, enjoy!

The reason I specifically chose this recipe is because the combination is great for water weight management, bloating, appetite control, hydration, and digestion.

Do you infuse your own water? Or have you ever tried home made infused water?

Dog Park, Again

The other day we visited a new dog park that was opened in August. I think its the best. It's on an island. If that's not awesome, I don't know what is.

Anyways, it has a little dog and a big dog side. They're separated and the big dog side is a little bit bigger, of course. But, in the middle of the two, there was  a medium sized square that was for the "Bad Dogs". I mean it, this place was perfect.

Her cuteness!

Playing with littles through the fence.

This historic house was outside of it. It's a beautiful home, I would love to live in a place like that, it seems very...manageable.

Do you have any neat dog parks you like going to?
